Every successful florist starts with strong foundations. In Term 1, you'll learn the essential skills that every professional florist needs to create beautiful, market-ready designs with confidence.
You'll discover how to properly condition and care for fresh flowers to maximise their vase life, master the art of spiral hand-tied bouquets, and create large, lush bouquets that customers love. You'll explore a variety of retail floral designs while learning professional ribbon techniques, wrapping methods, and aqua wrapping for premium presentation.
As your confidence grows, you'll create contemporary floral arrangements, elegant flat-back designs and stylish boxed arrangements while gaining a solid understanding of modern retail floristry.
By the end of Term 1, you'll have the confidence to create polished, professional floral designs that are ready for the retail environment.

Term 2
Sympathy, Memorial & Retail Floristry
Term 2 takes your floristry skills to the next level as you explore one of the most meaningful areas of the floral industry—sympathy and memorial work.
You'll gain valuable knowledge about sourcing flowers through wholesale suppliers while strengthening your understanding of the elements and principles of floral design. Learn how to confidently quote jobs, price your work for profit, and create beautiful floral designs that meet both customer expectations and industry standards.
Throughout this term you'll create all-round arrangements, sheaths, eco-friendly sheaths, symmetrical flat-back tributes, wreaths, casket sprays, sympathy tributes and polystyrene-based designs. You'll also develop installation techniques through seasonal projects, including Mother's Day floral displays.
By the end of Term 2, you'll confidently create thoughtful sympathy work while understanding the commercial side of retail floristry and profitable business practices.

Term 3
Weddings & Event Floristry
Step into the exciting world of weddings and events, where creativity meets large-scale floral design.
In Term 3, you'll learn how to design breathtaking floral pieces for weddings and special occasions while thinking creatively to produce luxurious, high-impact floral styling.
You'll master professional wiring techniques and create buttonholes, corsages, wearable flowers, flower crowns and floral halos. You'll also design eco-friendly bridal bouquets, elegant teardrop bouquets and beautiful bridesmaids' bouquets before progressing to larger statement pieces, including stunning floral arbors and event installations.
This term is designed to expand your creative vision while teaching the practical skills needed to confidently deliver weddings and events from start to finish.
By the end of Term 3, you'll have the skills, techniques and confidence to create unforgettable wedding and event florals that leave a lasting impression.
